Srinagar: Mehbooba Mufti, leader of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has launched a scathing critique of the Modi-led government’s policies in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), accusing it of following a communal agenda and discriminating against Muslim employees.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Mufti released a video message asserting that the Modi administration has unjustly terminated Muslim employees from their government positions. She also held the current Director General of Police (DGP) responsible for the highest number of casualties in the region over the past 32 months, demanding accountability for these security failures. Her comments followed an incident in which five Indian soldiers were killed in Doda district.
Mufti further criticized the DGP for engaging in political manipulation and targeting her party, journalists, and the general populace. She advocated for leadership changes and called for an end to the misuse of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) against innocent individuals, stressing the need to halt what she terms the “weaponization” of administrative processes.
