Mehbooba Mufti Accuses ED of Influencing Indian Elections

Srinagar, Mehbooba Mufti, President of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has raised serious allegations against the Enforcement Directorate (ED), claiming it is being used as a tool by the Indian government in the electoral process.

According to Kashmir Media Service, during a press interaction in Srinagar, Mehbooba Mufti asserted that the Indian government routinely employs agencies like the Enforcement Directorate (ED), National Investigation Agency (NIA), and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to summon political leaders in connection with various investigations. She alleged that this pattern intensifies whenever elections are imminent in the territory, suggesting a strategy to harass and intimidate political figures.

This statement came in the context of the recent summoning of National Conference President Farooq Abdullah by the ED. Abdullah was instructed to appear at the ED office in Srinagar. However, due to his deteriorating health condition, he was unable to comply with the summons.
