Meeting regarding the use of Solar Energy to power CDA offices including basic city infrastructure

Islamabad, December 31, 2022 (PPI-OT):An important meeting regarding solar energy was held on Saturday under the chairmanship of Captain (Retd) Muhammad Usman Younis, Chairman Capital Development Authority. In which other officers including Member Engineering, Member Planning, and Member Environment participated.

In the meeting, the possibilities of transferring all CDA offices, buildings, facilities including basic structures (infrastructure) to solar system were reviewed in detail and it was decided that in the light of the instructions of the Government of Pakistan, all CDA offices, buildings, and installations including basic structures (infrastructure) should be shifted to solar energy.

Initially it was also decided to start as a pilot project to switch street lights installed on newly constructed roads to solar energy on government-to-government basis. Moreover, in the meeting, it was decided to activate the solar system at F-9 Park in Islamabad to control the energy expenditure and meet the needs through alternative energy sources. It should be noted that these measures will not only increase energy savings, but will also significantly reduce costs.
