Quetta: An important meeting focused on the challenges faced by teams in an ongoing anti-polio campaign was convened under the chairmanship of Assistant Commissioner Mir Jawad Ahmad Zehri. This meeting was organized following special directions from Deputy Commissioner Hamoud-ur-Rehman.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the meeting was attended by notable figures including District Health Officer Dr. Abdul Wahid Baloch, DSM PHI Dr. Murshid Dashti, DSO Dr. Zafar Iqbal, WHO District Surveillance Officer Dr. Farooq Baloch, and various monitoring officers from law enforcement and other departments. The discussions were centered on issues encountered during the campaign, such as refugee cases reported the previous day and concerns regarding substandard markers.
The meeting report indicated that all refugee cases from the previous day have been effectively addressed. In response to complaints, the Assistant Commissioner initiated swapping operations and other measures at various locations to enhance the campaign’s efficiency. A lack of police cooperation was also highlighted, prompting the Assistant Commissioner to contact relevant authorities and ensure full police support.
Efforts continue to swiftly and effectively address any issues arising during the campaign, with the goal of making Gwadar district polio-free.
