Karachi: Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab inaugurated a newly constructed dual carriageway connecting Mehr-un-Nisa Hospital Road to Nasir Jump and Ibrahim Hyderi Creek Road in District Korangi, which aims to improve transportation links between the districts of Korangi and Malir. The project, a key development initiative, is expected to ease commutes for millions of residents and was opened in a ceremony attended by several local officials and members of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation.

According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, the road project was completed at a cost of Rs. 265.259 million and features a 1,700-metre-long and 9.3-metre-wide modern road, constructed with durable materials to ensure long service life. The development includes a 36-inch storm-water drainage line and an 18-inch sewerage pipeline, aimed at addressing drainage issues during monsoon seasons. Additionally, the project includes footpaths, streetlights, and improved road connectivity to key areas, fulfilling a commitment to enhance urban infrastructure.

Mayor Wahab emphasized the importance of the project for the area’s development, highlighting the improved access to healthcare and industrial zones. He also announced forthcoming tenders for further development projects and underscored the commitment to public service and infrastructure development under the leadership of the Pakistan Peoples Party. The Mayor’s remarks included a focus on financial transparency and the strategic management of resources to ensure continued progress in Karachi’s urban landscape.
