KARACHI: Mayor Karachi, Barrister Murtaza Wahab, emphasized the importance of prioritizing national interest over personal gains during a commemorative event at the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Speaking to the media on Pakistan Day, he highlighted the historical significance of the March 23, 1940, Resolution and its role in the creation of Pakistan.
According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, Mayor Wahab stressed that the vision of Quaid-e-Azam should guide the nation in setting aside differences to focus on the country’s development and prosperity. He announced that development projects in Karachi, valued at over Rs. 100 billion, are progressing with transparency, including the significant K-IV water supply project to alleviate the city’s water shortage.
Mayor Wahab also spoke on the importance of unity in combatting terrorism, acknowledging the sacrifices made by Pakistan’s armed forces and the public. He reiterated his commitment to transforming Karachi into a center of peace and development, with ongoing construction of sports facilities and other public amenities to engage the youth positively.
