Karachi: Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab has initiated infrastructure development projects valued at Rs. 2 billion in the SITE Industrial Area. The projects will focus on road rehabilitation, drainage system improvements, and other development activities intended to modernize the area’s infrastructure.

According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, the Sindh Government has allocated a special development package for the business community, with practical work on these projects already underway. The Mayor emphasized that the entire budget is now under the control of the SITE Association to ensure transparency and expedite project execution.

Mayor Wahab stated that the government’s role in providing necessary funds is complete, and it is now the SITE Association’s responsibility to start and finish the projects within the designated timeline. He expressed confidence that the projects would be completed swiftly, enhancing industrial activity and benefiting the business community.

The Mayor highlighted the crucial role of the business community in Karachi and Pakistan’s economic development, asserting that providing them with essential facilities is a governmental priority. He affirmed that under the leadership of Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the Sindh Government is dedicated to addressing the needs of traders and citizens through effective measures.

The event included a detailed briefing from SITE Association representatives on the projects’ phases, proposed works, and implementation strategies. It was attended by Commissioner Karachi Syed Hassan Naqvi, business leaders Zubair Motiwala and Javed Bilwani, as well as other traders, industrialists, and government officials.
