Massive protests erupt in Budgam after Indian army officer burnt Iranian general’s photo

Srinagar, February 15, 2022 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, massive protests broke out in Budgam district, today, after an Indian army officer burnt down the photographs of slain Iranian military commander Qasem Soleimani. Locals said that the Indian army officer during a cordon and search operation removed the photographs of Qasem Soleimani from the wall of a house and burnt it down in Magam area of the district. Eyewitnesses said, Indian army is conducting search operation house to house.

The locals strongly objected to the Indian Army officer’s act and staged protests. As the news spread, shopkeepers in Magam downed their shutters and staged massive protests demanding action against the Indian army officer. Indian troops fired bullets and teargas shells on protesters while the clashes were going on till last reports came in. The situation is tense in the town. Qasem Soleimani was the Iranian military officer who served in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. From 1998 until his assassination in 2020, he was the commander of the Quds Force.
