New Delhi, June 10, 2022 (PPI-OT):Massive protest demonstrations were held in New Delhi and several other parts of India against derogatory remarks of Hindutva BJP officials on Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). According to Kashmir Media Service, Muslims after Friday prayers held protests in Delhi Jamia Masjid demanding arrest of BJP spokespersons Nupur Sharma and Naveen Jindal. The protesters raised pro-Islam slogans. The Shahi Imam of the Jamia Masjid said that no call for protest was given by the mosque authorities.

The Delhi Police said legal action would be taken against the protesters as there was no permission for the stir at Jamia Masjid. On the other hand, protests were also held in Lucknow, Prayagraj, Deoband, Moradabad, Saharanpur, Thane, Aurangabad, Pune, Muzaffarpur, and other Indian cities against the inflammatory remarks of BJP officials.
