Mass Arrests by Indian Troops in Kathua District Spark Concern

Srinagar: In a recent surge of military activity, Indian troops have arrested at least 24 individuals in Kathua district, as part of ongoing cordon and search operations in the region of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

According to Kashmir Media Service, these operations have been conducted by the Indian army and paramilitary forces across various parts of Kathua, as well as in Udhampur and Bhaderwah. The operations have included house raids, during which numerous arrests have been made. Additionally, two individuals, Tsering Chinba and Stanzin, were detained in a separate operation in the Nyoma area of Leh district. This escalation of military enforcement actions has raised significant concerns regarding the treatment of the local population under the pretext of security and order.
