Quetta: In a significant assembly session within the Balochistan Provincial Assembly’s committee room, members of the Standing Council for Finance, Excise and Taxation, and Board of Revenue Transport convened to elect a new chairman for their council, selecting Mr. Mark Khan Achakzai for the role.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the election saw Mr. Achakzai unanimously chosen by his peers, with Asghar Khan proposing and Barkat Ali seconding his nomination. The session was attended by notable assembly members including Zamrik Khan Achakzai, Barkat Ali, Fazal Qadir, Faisal Khan Jamali, and Asghar Khan Tareen, as well as Assembly Secretary Tahir Shah Kakar and Senior Member of the Board of Revenue Qamber Dashti.
Following the election, the assembly discussed the Defense Housing Authority Quetta’s amendment draft law of 2024, which is set to be tabled in the next session. Additionally, the members engaged with a delegation of tribes and landlords, addressing their concerns about revenue issues and discussing relevant legislative measures.
