Lahore: Pakistan’s Maritime Security Workshop, now in its seventh edition, is set to take place at the Pakistan Navy War College, emphasizing the evolution of this event from its inception in 2017 to a significant national forum. According to Pakistan Navy, the workshop serves as a collaborative platform for stakeholders from government, military, academia, media, and industry to enhance understanding of maritime security in today’s interconnected world. The Indian Ocean Region is facing challenges such as geopolitical tensions and increased nuclearization, alongside opportunities and risks presented by international trade growth and technological advancements.
Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Naval Staff, underscored the importance of securing Pakistan’s maritime domain, noting its critical role in the nation’s economic future. The workshop also focuses on the Blue Economy, highlighting its potential for socioeconomic prosperity. The event is designed to foster new perspectives and reinforce commitments to maritime security, benefiting both Pakistan and the global community.
