Mardan to Enhance Educational Services for Visually Impaired Children

Peshawar, The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, represented by Adviser to the Chief Minister Mashal Azam Yousafzai, has committed to extending educational facilities for visually impaired children in Mardan, announcing plans to facilitate learning up to matriculation level starting next year. This initiative aligns with broader efforts to address staffing shortages and enhance the quality of education in special institutions.

According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, during Yousafzai’s visit to the Special Education Complex and a private institution for hearing and speech in Mardan, it was disclosed that strategic steps are underway to improve educational infrastructure and resource allocation. The Special Education Complex in Mardan, operational since 1987, currently educates 376 students, offering both academic and vocational training.

Yousafzai’s visit included detailed discussions on the operational challenges and achievements of these institutions, with an emphasis on future enhancements to ensure comprehensive educational opportunities for special needs students in the region. He also engaged with staff and students, gaining insights into the institutions’ operations and impact.

Furthermore, Yousafzai assured of prioritizing the resolution of issues faced by these educational complexes and reaffirmed the government’s support for special education initiatives, marking a significant step towards inclusive education in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
