Manipur Police Detain 51 Amidst Ongoing State Tensions


Imphal: A recent wave of police actions has resulted in the arrest of 51 individuals across various districts in the Indian state of Manipur, as authorities intensify their efforts to quell unrest and enforce law and order.



According to Kashmir Media Service, police conducted targeted raids in several sensitive and challenging regions throughout Manipur, apprehending individuals on charges of violating provisions of the Indian Penal Code. This action follows a period marked by violent clashes which have resulted in over two hundred deaths, with many more injured and displaced.



The situation has led to the deployment of a significant number of Indian forces across the state’s sensitive areas. The police have also set up 124 checkpoints in strategic locations, including hills and valleys, to further secure the region and stabilize the volatile conditions.
