Makran Division Focuses on Educational Reforms and Teacher Training

Turbat, The Biennial Education Committee convened in Turbat under the chairmanship of Commissioner Makran, Daud Khan Khalji, focusing on addressing challenges and advancing the educational sector within the Makran Division. High-ranking officials, including Deputy Commissioners and education department heads, participated both in person and online.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the meeting highlighted issues such as teaching staff vacancies and classroom shortages that have hindered educational progress in the region. Commissioner Khalji emphasized the provincial government’s commitment to improving education as a top priority, with the goal of implementing sustainable reforms. He stressed the importance of teacher training to enhance instructional quality through modern technology.

Divisional Director of Schools, Ghafoor Dashti, provided a comprehensive briefing on the current educational landscape in Makran, noting that while the division performs better than other regions, significant challenges remain. Strategies discussed to overcome these hurdles included the merger of shelterless schools with nearby facilities, construction of additional classrooms, and provision of extra staff to enhance learning environments.

The meeting concluded with a call to draft formal requests for additional construction and staffing to better support teachers and improve educational outcomes across Makran Division.
