Lower Caste Rights Activist K. Armstrong Murdered in Chennai

Chennai: K. Armstrong, a prominent Indian politician and advocate for lower caste rights, was fatally attacked near his residence in Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu. Armstrong, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief for Tamil Nadu, was known for his dedication to improving the lives of Dalits through education and employment initiatives.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Armstrong was surrounded and assaulted by six men on motorbikes wielding machetes and sickles while conversing with friends and supporters. The attackers escaped the scene immediately after the incident. The murder has sparked considerable unrest, with protests erupting among Armstrong’s supporters demanding justice. Chennai police have arrested eight individuals in connection to the murder, and investigations are ongoing. Leaders from various political spectrums, including BSP head Mayawati and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, have condemned the brutal attack and urged swift action to bring the perpetrators to justice.
