Low-Intensity Earthquake Recorded in Kishtwar District, No Casualties Reported

Jammu, Residents of Kishtwar district in the Chenab Valley region experienced a low-intensity earthquake, although no damage or casualties have been reported following the tremor.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the earthquake did not result in any loss of life or damage to property within the district. This comes as a relief to the inhabitants who are part of the seismically active region of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The Center for Seismology in India confirmed that the quake had a magnitude of 3.5 on the Richter scale. The epicenter was identified to be approximately 215 kilometers north of Ayodhya, India, with a depth of 10 kilometers. Despite the quake’s low intensity, seismic activity is closely monitored in the region due to its potential to cause significant impacts.
