Loralai Irrigation Department Enhances Monitoring of Dams Amid Monsoon Season

Loralai: As the monsoon season intensifies, the Loralai Irrigation Department is taking proactive steps to ensure the safety and functionality of dams in the region. Engineer Ghulam Mustafa Chandio, from Axin Irrigation Loralai, has announced a comprehensive review and monitoring of all irrigation schemes to manage and mitigate potential flood risks.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, Engineer Chandio emphasized that the increased scrutiny of the dams follows direct orders from Provincial Minister for Irrigation Sadiq Imrani and Secretary Irrigation Hafiz Abdul Majid. The directive has led to a thorough inspection of all obstructions that could impede the flow of floodwater, ensuring all pathways are clear and operational. Under the supervision of Engineer Chandio, emergency inspections of all district dams have been conducted, necessary machinery has been dispatched to critical areas, and irrigation staff have been stationed strategically at all dam sites to respond promptly to any arising issues.

The Loralai Irrigation Department has issued warnings and safety advice to residents in nearby areas, urging them to take precautionary measures during this volatile weather period. Contact information for relevant department officials has been disseminated to facilitate swift communication in the event of emergencies. The community has been requested to cooperate fully with the authorities to ensure safety and minimize damage during the monsoon season.

The heightened alertness and preparedness measures underscore the department’s commitment to safeguarding both infrastructure and residents against the unpredictable nature of monsoon rains. Engineer Chandio reassured the public, stating, “God willing, we will not neglect our duty.”
