Loralai Hosts Event to Address Population Growth on World Population Day

Loralai: A significant event took place in Municipal Committee Loralai in observance of World Population Day, where community leaders gathered to discuss strategies for managing population growth through enhanced family planning initiatives. The event highlighted the critical connection between population control and the improved distribution of resources for health, education, and other essentials.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the chief guest, Afzal Khan Atma Nakheel, emphasized the importance of family planning in curbing the rapid increase in population. He noted that effective resource utilization could only be achieved by managing population growth. The gathering also included key speakers such as PPHI Officer MND Officer Akhtar Muhammad, Assistant Director Municipal Committee Amanullah Utmankhel, District Population Officer Zakaria Khan Mandukhel, Incharge RHS Dr. Nasreen Gul, and Dr. Nigat of the Health Department. They collectively addressed the various challenges posed by unchecked population growth, including economic, social, educational, and health issues.

The speakers underscored the necessity of spacing child births to ensure the health of mothers and children, which would contribute to reducing maternal and infant mortality rates and malnutrition. The event also spotlighted the ongoing efforts to provide free family planning services and the expansion of these services to both men and women, aiming to achieve the vision of a balanced family structure.
