Musa Khel: A new anti-polio campaign spanning five days was initiated in the Loralai Division, with the inaugural event taking place at the District Emergency Operation Center in Musa Khel. Commissioner Loralai Division Saadat Hasan led the launch, administering polio vaccinations to children under the age of five, signaling the start of an extensive effort to immunize young residents against the polio virus.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, Commissioner Saadat Hasan was joined by Deputy Commissioner Musaikhel Abdul Hameed Zahri, District Health Officer Dr. Amir Ali Bugti, and other officials. During the event, Commissioner Hasan emphasized the critical importance of the campaign, urging all community factions to participate by vaccinating their children. He highlighted the goal of the campaign to prevent any possibility of lifelong disability due to polio. Additionally, he stressed the need for comprehensive coverage, aiming for the campaign to reach every eligible child without exception.
The initiative underscores the ongoing efforts by health authorities in the region to combat polio, a disease that has seen significant reductions in cases due to persistent vaccination campaigns but still poses a threat in some areas. The coordinated approach, involving various levels of government and health officials, is part of a broader strategy to eradicate polio from the region entirely.
