Loralai: Deputy Commissioner Loralai Miran Baloch has taken proactive steps to curb inflation and prevent illegal profiteering in the district, directing assistant commissioners across Loralai to tighten oversight of market prices and enforce government-mandated rates. As part of these efforts, Assistant Commissioner Loralai Ajmal Khan Mandukhel convened a meeting of the price control committee to address issues related to the overpricing of essential commodities.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the meeting included key stakeholders such as Jaha Nagir Khan, the Price Control Committee Incharge from the Municipal Committee Food Authority, representatives from Laho Stock Anjuman Traders, Slaughter House, and owners of local bakeries, tandoors, tailoring, and barber shops. Assistant Commissioner Loralai emphasized the importance of compliance with the government’s pricing directives, particularly for food items like Isha Khordosh, and mandated strict adherence to the price limits set by authorities.
Further actions were taken by Assistant Commissioner Ajmal Khan, who personally inspected Zhob Road and other significant markets within the district. During his visits, he assessed the pricing of various food items, as well as fruits, vegetables, and meat. Violations of price controls were met with immediate penalties, with fines totaling 5000 thousand rupees imposed on several shopkeepers for non-compliance. He issued stern warnings to those found overcharging, underscoring the district administration’s commitment to preventing the exploitation of consumers through inflated prices.
The Deputy Commissioner has issued firm instructions to ensure that no deviations from the prescribed rates occur. He also called on the business community to adopt a cooperative attitude and assist in efforts to provide economic relief to the populace by adhering to price regulations. The administration warned that continued non-compliance would result in not only fines but also legal action against offending parties.
This initiative reflects a broader commitment by Loralai’s district administration to protect consumers and maintain market stability by actively monitoring and enforcing price controls. The business community’s cooperation is crucial in these efforts, as both the authorities and traders work towards the common goal of fair pricing for essential goods.
