Loralai Commissioner Cracks Down on Absenteeism in Schools and Health Units

Loralai: Commissioner Saadat Hasan of Loralai Division conducted surprise inspections at local educational and health facilities, uncovering significant staff absenteeism and operational issues that prompted immediate administrative action.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, during his unannounced visit to Haji Narai Nasir Primary School, Commissioner Hasan found the school inexplicably locked at 11:45 AM, leading to his directive for a thorough investigation and subsequent disciplinary measures against the responsible teaching staff. Further inspection at the Basic Health Unit in Kali Malikullah Noor Nasir Abad revealed a similar pattern of negligence, with key health personnel absent and essential medical equipment unused.

The situation was compounded by revelations from DEH Abdul Hameed Zahri that out of five Rural Health Centers (RHCs) in Loralai, only one is operational. The remaining four suffer from staffing issues and lack of essential supplies, despite having personnel on the payroll. In response, Commissioner Hasan ordered the redeployment of staff from non-functional RHCs to locations where they are needed and mandated strict actions against absentee employees, including salary deductions to be forwarded to the national treasury.

Commissioner Hasan’s directives align with the Chief Minister of Balochistan’s policy against ‘ghost employees’ in critical sectors such as health and education. He emphasized the necessity of field visits by education and health directors to ensure that public services are effectively rendered and to foster accountability at all operational levels.
