Lahore, May 26, 2022 (PPI-OT):Delegation from Balochistan Judiciary on the concept of court associated Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR) visited the Punjab Judicial Academy on their tour to Lahore.
The delegation is headed by the Hon’ble Mr. Justice Muhammad Hashim Khan Kakar, Senior Puisne Judge, High Court of Balochistan. The other members include: Mr. Rashid Mehmood, Registar BHC, Mr. Muhammad Dawood Khan Nazar, D and SJ Quetta, Mr. Tahir Humayun, D and SJ Loralai, Mr. Muhammad Ali Mubeen, ADSJ Usta Muhammad, Malik Shoaib Sultan, DR Admn Quetta, Miss. Saima Najam, Family Judge-III, Quetta, Mr. Abdul Muqeet, SCJ, Hub, Ejaz Mustafa, A2J Expert Balochistan UNDP, Mr. Ijaz Ali, Court Specialist UNDP, Mr. Qasim Ali, Vice Chairman, Balochistan Bar Council and Mr. Noor Jan Buledi Adv, General Secretary Quetta Bar Association.
Mr. Ashtar Abass, Acting Director General along with Ch. Muhammad Siddique (Director Program), Mr. Tariq Iftikhar Ahmad (Director Training), Ms. Bushra Zaman (Director R and P) and Mr. Saboor Khan (Addl. Director) received the delegation and presented a bouquet to the Hon’ble Mr. Justice Muhammad Hashim Khan Kakar, Senior Puisne Judge, High Court of Balochistan.
In the inaugural session, the Acting Director General, Mr. Ashtar Abass welcomed the delegation and briefed regarding the concept of ADR and how the Academy was helping in capacity building. Thereafter, Mr. Tariq Iftikhar Ahmad, Director Training PJA, given briefing about the legal framework, working and performance of the Punjab Judicial Academy as well future plans and KSK campus construction in detail.
After the refreshment, the delegation visited the premises of the Academy and showed keen interest in adopting the IT infrastructure facilities developed by the Academy especially with regard to online training programs through webinars.
The delegation, especially the Hon’ble Mr. Justice Muhammad Hashim Khan Kakar, Senior Puisne Judge, High Court of Balochistan appreciated the work of IT Instructor, Dr. Imran M. Rabbani for his single handed contribution in developing such an effective IT System for the Academy. Addressing to his contingents, he said, we should benefit from Dr. Imran’s expertise.
The Delegation also visited ongoing training program of GTP 2019-20 Batch-17 of ADSJs and three days training program on Gender Based Cases for judicial officers organized by UNODC. The Hon’ble Mr. Justice Muhammad Hashim Khan Kakar engaged with the participants of both the classes.
After the visit of the Academy, briefing was given on ADR-History-Its Applications and Principles of Natural Justice by Ms. Bushra Zaman, Director R and P. The delegation left PJA to visit again on 26-05-2022 for another round of information session at PJA, Lahore.
