Leaders Pledge Support for Teachers on World Teachers’ Day


Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif have reiterated their commitment to advancing education and supporting teachers across the nation. In separate messages marking World Teachers’ Day, both leaders emphasized the pivotal role of educators in shaping the country’s future.



The President described teachers as custodians of knowledge and values, emphasizing their role in guiding young minds toward truth, justice, and excellence. He acknowledged their contributions to nation-building and underscored the importance of their work.



Prime Minister Sharif highlighted the joint responsibility of federal and provincial governments in enhancing the professional skills of teachers. He also stressed the need to ensure the economic well-being of educators, recognizing the critical role they play in the education system.



World Teachers’ Day is being celebrated this year under the theme “Recasting teaching as a collaborative profession.” This theme highlights the transformative potential of collaboration among teachers, schools, and broader education systems, aiming to foster a more integrated and effective educational environment.
