Layyah Police Arrest Suspects in Robbery and Gang-Rape Case Involving Head Nurse


Layyah, In a swift operation, the Layyah police have apprehended three individuals linked to a grievous incident of robbery and gang-rape involving a head nurse. The arrests were made within a few hours of the reported crime, showcasing a prompt response by the local law enforcement. The accused, identified as Fayyaz, Manzoor Hussain, and Imran, were taken into custody by the Thana City Police, employing modern investigative techniques to track down the suspects.



According to Punjab Police, the crime occurred a day prior to the arrests, when the trio forcibly entered the home of the head nurse, committing robbery and gang-rape. The rapid action of the police in utilizing advanced technology was instrumental in identifying and arresting the unnamed suspects. The incident drew the attention of Additional IG South Punjab Kamran Khan, who personally visited the victim’s home to assure her of the police’s commitment to securing complete justice. Khan highlighted the severity of the crime and the police’s resolve in ensuring that the perpetrators face stringent legal consequences.



In his visit, Khan also emphasized the operational status of the Anti-Women Harassment and Violence Cell across Punjab, designed to protect women and provide them with a secure environment. This initiative aims to support students, housewives, and working women by offering them safety and peace across all districts of South Punjab. Furthermore, Khan praised the Layyah police team for their efficiency and rapid response in apprehending the suspects, reflecting a proactive approach towards combating crimes against women.



The presence of DPO Layyah Asad ur Rehman and SP Legal South Punjab Hakim Noel at the occasion underscored the importance placed on addressing such serious offenses and the collaborative efforts within the police department to ensure justice and security for the victim and the broader community.
