Layne Robinson Applauds Pakistan’s Youth Engagement Efforts

Islamabad: Layne Robinson, Head of Delegation at the Commonwealth Secretariat, has praised Pakistan for its efforts to engage young people in the decision-making process. The commendation was directed at the country’s initiative of establishing a National Youth Council, which aims to incorporate youth perspectives into national policies.

According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Robinson’s remarks came during an exclusive interview with Radio Pakistan’s correspondent, Muhammad Zafar Iqbal, in Islamabad. He highlighted that many nations have yet to establish such councils, leaving young citizens excluded from significant policy discussions.

Robinson’s acknowledgment underscores the importance of youth participation in governance and policy-making globally. By establishing the National Youth Council, Pakistan positions itself as a leader in fostering youth inclusion in governmental processes, setting a precedent for others to follow.
