Law Minister Affirms Constitution Allows Appointment of Ad Hoc Judges

Islamabad: Minister for Law and Justice, Azam Nazeer Tarar, confirmed today that the Pakistani constitution supports the appointment of ad hoc judges, addressing recent debates and misinformation regarding judicial appointments.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Minister Tarar clarified in a statement that the constitution indeed permits such appointments and emphasized the need for ad hoc judges in the judicial system. He also addressed rumors regarding the extension of the tenure of Chief Justice of Pakistan, Qazi Faez Issa, categorically rejecting such reports. Furthermore, the Minister brought up the possibility of discussing the invocation of Article 6 against PTI leaders in Parliament, suggesting that it is a matter worthy of parliamentary debate.
