Islamabad, The Minister for Law and Justice, Azam Nazir Tarar, has highlighted the necessity of a collective response to the menace of corruption, focusing on the role of behavioral change alongside the development of laws and policies. This call to action was made during the 2nd Meeting of the Anti-Corruption Task Force.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the meeting convened in Islamabad served as a platform for various representatives, including those from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), Financial Monitoring Unit (FMU), Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP), and Finance Division, to discuss strategies to curb financial corruption and money laundering. Participants were encouraged to present their recommendations by the 20th of this month to aid in establishing a robust framework to counter corruption.
The discussions underscored the significance of enhancing the capacities of different departments and fostering inter-agency collaboration. A consensus emerged on the pivotal role of integrated efforts in eradicating financial corruption. The Law Minister concluded the meeting on a hopeful note, urging sustained cooperative endeavors to achieve meaningful progress in the anti-corruption drive.
