Lahore, Amid the sacred month of Ramadan, Lahore Police have intensified their efforts against illegal profiteering, registering 165 cases and arresting 269 individuals linked to hoarding and overcharging. This city-wide operation aims to ensure fair pricing and availability of commodities for the public during this significant period.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, the operation spans several divisions across Lahore, with a notable number of cases filed in City, Cantonment, Civil Lines, Saddar, Iqbal Town, and Model Town divisions. Capital City Police Officer Lahore, Bilal Siddique Kamyana, in a recent statement, made it clear that those engaged in profiteering activities would face stringent actions without any concessions. He also urged field officers to collaborate closely with the district administration to effectively combat profiteering practices.
This crackdown reflects Lahore Police’s commitment to maintaining market discipline and protecting consumers’ rights during Ramadan, ensuring that essential goods are available at fair prices to all residents.
