Lahore, The Lahore Police, under the leadership of Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana, has marked a year of notable accomplishments in various sectors, including departmental reforms, welfare initiatives, and crime reduction.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, CCPO Kamyana highlighted the police department’s effective handling of over 400,000 pending road certificates and more than 300,000 under-investigation cases. The proactive measures taken through helpline 15 have notably decreased the crime rate in Lahore.
One of the significant strides is the introduction of smart policing. Lahore Police has established international standard Special Initiative Police Stations (SIPS) that offer 14 different services around the clock through 16 service centers.
A record number of promotions were also acknowledged, with over 4,000 officers and personnel elevated through 36 promotion boards. Additionally, families of 13 martyred police officers received houses worth Rs 14.85 crore under the Shuhda package, and scholarships totaling Rs 6 crore 86 lakh 68 thousand were distributed to 1,263 families of police officers.
CCPO Kamyana proudly mentioned the successful arrest of 3,304 gangs, recovering assets over Rs 2 billion 96 million, including vehicles valued at Rs 1 billion 87 crore 53 lakh 65 thousand retrieved through AVLS operations.
In the fight against narcotics, Lahore Police apprehended 11,111 suspects and confiscated significant quantities of drugs and alcohol. The police also captured 25,529 Proclaimed Offenders, 19,187 Target Offenders, and 49,106 Judicial Fugitives.
Kamyana emphasized the shift towards a public service-focused policing system, moving away from tactics of fear and intimidation. This transformation includes enhancing the public service delivery system through modern technology and updating police station facilities.
These achievements reflect the Lahore Police’s commitment to public safety, welfare, and efficient law enforcement.
