Lahore Police Implements Comprehensive Security Plan for Moharram ul Haram

Lahore: Lahore Police has commenced the execution of a detailed security strategy for Moharram ul Haram, deploying over 11,000 personnel to ensure safety during this period.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, the plan includes the observation of 457 category-A, 2610 category-B, and 801 category-C majalis in Lahore. Additionally, 17 category-A, 74 category-B, and 3 category-C licensed processions will traverse the city, alongside 87 category-A, 234 category-B, and 43 category-C unlicensed processions.

CCPO Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana emphasized the provision of foolproof security for all events and special attention to high-risk areas. He stressed the importance of vigilance by supervisory officers and the adherence to security SOPs, warning against any negligence. Kamyana revealed enhancements like road repairs, improved lighting, and the securing of electric wires, especially given the likelihood of rain, to further safeguard the procession routes. Measures such as CCTV monitoring, metal detectors, and the deployment of female police officers for women’s security checks are also in place.
