Lahore Police Honored for Averting Major Tragedy in Ichra Incident

Lahore, In a ceremony held at the Central Police Office, Inspector General of Punjab Police, Dr. Usman Anwar, lauded the efforts of police officers for their prompt and wise action during the Ichra incident, which prevented a significant disaster. The IG emphasized the role of the police force in enhancing public awareness against extremist reactions and hailed the Punjab Police as a formidable barrier against extremism and violence.

According to Punjab Police, Dr. Usman Anwar praised the entire team, including the Dolphin Squad, for their critical role in saving a woman’s life during the incident. The names of the officers involved will be honored on the walls of the Central Police Office for their exemplary conduct.

SDPO Gulberg ASP Shehrbano Naqvi provided a detailed briefing on the Ichra incident, leading to commendation from IG Punjab for the team’s bravery and commitment to duty. The IG announced awards for the officers and officials, naming SHO Ichra Bilal Arabi, ASI Sajid Majeed, and Constable Usman as recipients of the IG Gallantry Award for their exceptional service. Additionally, constables Adnan, Shehzad, Shehryar, Iftikhar, Naqash, Naveed, and Azmat were recognized for their heroic efforts.

The event was attended by senior officials, including DIG Operations Lahore Ali Nasir Rizvi, AIG Discipline Shaista Nadeem, SSP Operations Lahore Ali Raza, SP Model Town, and SDPO Gulberg, demonstrating the collective pride and solidarity of the Punjab Police in the face of challenges.
