Lahore: In a distressing incident, a man was arrested for attempting to poison his wife, an act that was swiftly addressed by the Virtual Women Police Station in Lahore. The police and rescue teams responded immediately, ensuring the woman received the necessary medical attention that saved her life.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab announcement issued on 12 August 2024, the incident was reported by the victim, who claimed her husband had deceitfully poisoned her. Following the report, the Virtual Women Police Station coordinated an urgent response, dispatching rescue and police teams to assist the woman. She was promptly transferred to a local hospital, where doctors were able to stabilize her condition.
DG Khan Police have taken the husband into custody and have initiated legal proceedings against him. The spokesperson for Safe Cities highlighted the effectiveness of the response and the critical role of the Virtual Women Police Station in handling such emergencies. The woman expressed her gratitude towards the police and the quick response team for their prompt actions.
