Lahore: In a pivotal meeting led by Commissioner Lahore Zaid bin Maqsood, the Divisional Development Working Party approved 19 new development schemes aimed at enhancing urban infrastructure and educational facilities across Lahore, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, and Kasur districts.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, the schemes, which encompass urban development, roads, higher and special education, and local government, are set to bring significant improvements to the division. The meeting also saw the approval of ten new schemes by the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) focusing on sewerage, drains, and water supply improvements for various towns. Additionally, a specific development project for Government College Kulliyat-ul-Banat was green-lighted.
Commissioner Maqsood issued conditional approvals for road schemes in Kasur and Lahore, requesting further details to ensure the quality and timely completion of these projects. The meeting underscored strict monitoring of the quality of development schemes to ensure that they meet set standards and deadlines. Director (Dev) Javed Rasheed Chohan and Assistant Director Hafiz Muhammad Iqbal presented detailed reviews of the schemes, with deputy directors and representatives from relevant departments in attendance.
