Ladakh sets Guinness world record for frozen lake marathon 

Leh, February 21, 2023 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the world-famous Pangong Tso Lake in Ladakh has hosted the first-ever frozen lake marathon. The 21-kilometer marathon was held on Monday at a height of 13,862 feet and was the first to take place in the globe at this altitude.

The Pangong Frozen Lake Marathon was organized by Adventure Sports foundation of Ladakh (ASFL) in collaboration with Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council Leh and Ladakh Tourism Department. Officials said that the purpose of organising this frozen lake marathon was to create awareness about climate and the environment. The event was recorded in the Guinness World Records for the world’s highest frozen lake marathon.
