Labour Department will establish Flood Relief Camps: Minister Labour

Lahore, August 30, 2022 (PPI-OT):An important meeting was held in the Labour Department regarding the relief of the flood victims under the chairmanship of the Provincial Minister of Labour, Ansar Majeed Khan. In the meeting, important decisions were taken on behalf of Labour Department to help flood victims. Commissioner Social Security Humera Ikram, Director General Labour Welfare Faisal Zahoor, Additional Secretary Rao Atif, CEO Workers Welfare Board Rizwan Sharif, Deputy Secretary Labour Rao Zahid.

Vice Commissioner PESSI Tariq Mehmood and other officers attended the meeting. The Provincial Minister Labour presided over the meeting through video link and in the meeting special responsibilities were assigned to the officers to help the flood victims. The Provincial Minister of Labour, Ansar Majeed Khan, said on this occasion that under the Labour Department, relief camps will be established throughout Punjab and the officers of the Labour Department and Social Security will arrange food, tents, and other items for the flood victims with the assistance of industrial establishments.

At least 5 relief trucks should be sent from each city this week, while 15 relief trucks should be sent from major cities for the flood victims. Under the Labour Department, the relief goods will be delivered to the flood victims this week, the provincial minister said that relief camps should be established in the district offices of the Labour Department and make sure that the targets given to the officers are fulfilled, he added. The officers and staff of the labour and related departments should also actively participate in this noble task. The provincial minister said that donors should generously help the flood victims and the whole nation should come out to help the victims.
