Islamabad: Kuwait has announced the extension of its oil credit facility for Pakistan, securing an additional two years of support. The decision was conveyed by Kuwait’s Ambassador to Pakistan during a meeting with the Minister for Petroleum, Ali Pervaiz Malik, in the capital.
This facility, provided by Kuwait Petroleum to Pakistan State Oil (PSO), is a significant element in Pakistan’s energy framework. Minister Malik expressed his gratitude for Kuwait’s concession, highlighting its importance for ongoing structural reforms spearheaded by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
During the meeting, both parties agreed to deepen their cooperation in the energy sector. The Petroleum Minister noted the vital role of support from countries like Kuwait in enhancing the energy landscape of Pakistan.
Minister Malik also reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening ties with Gulf nations, particularly emphasizing collaboration in energy and trade sectors.
