Kunal Kamra Criticizes Modi Government for Bulldozing Homes of Muslims

New Delhi: Indian comedian Kunal Kamra has openly criticized the Modi government for its controversial practice of demolishing homes belonging primarily to impoverished Muslim communities, stating that this contradicts foundational Indian values.

According to Kashmir Media Service, during a BBC interview, Kamra discussed his views on what he termed “the idea of India,” highlighting the broader societal implications of demolishing homes of the poor. He emphasized that such actions affect entire families, disproportionately impacting the most vulnerable sectors of society.

The practice has ignited widespread debates across India regarding its legality, fairness, and the dire consequences for affected families, who suffer loss of both shelter and livelihood. Kamra, known for his critical stance on various social issues through his stand-up routines, continues to challenge governmental policies and societal norms.

Kamra’s commentary aligns with his previous engagements where he has been an outspoken critic of the government’s approach to free speech and judicial accountability. Despite facing significant personal repercussions, including being compelled to vacate his own home due to his political stances, Kamra remains a pivotal figure in sparking dialogue about justice and the core values of the Indian constitution.
