KSA Urges Peaceful Resolution of Pakistan-India Tensions


Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has expressed appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions in South Asia, following a meeting with Adel Al-Jubeir, the Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.



During their discussion, Prime Minister Sharif conveyed his respects to Saudi Arabia’s leadership, including King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud and Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman. He acknowledged the enduring support from Saudi Arabia and noted the positive trajectory of bilateral relations.



Addressing recent regional tensions, Prime Minister Sharif condemned India’s missile and drone strikes, which have resulted in civilian casualties and damage to infrastructure in Pakistan. He described these actions as violations of Pakistan’s sovereignty and threats to regional stability.



The Prime Minister commended the Pakistani Armed Forces for their defense efforts and affirmed Pakistan’s commitment to protecting its sovereignty as outlined in Article 51 of the UN Charter.



Saudi Arabia’s Al-Jubeir extended condolences for the civilian losses and expressed deep concern over the situation. He emphasized Saudi Arabia’s call for de-escalation and the peaceful resolution of disputes between Pakistan and India, in line with international law and UN Security Council resolutions.
