KP Special Assistant Innovates Vocational Training System

Peshawar, Abdul Karim Tordhir, the Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Technical Education and Industry and Crafts, has implemented significant reforms in the vocational training examination system. These changes, aimed at the Trade Testing Board, have made the certification process completely online and are intended to enhance transparency and convenience for students.

According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, during a visit to the Provincial Vocational Training Board Trade Testing Board in Gulbahar Peshawar, Tordhir instructed the board to maintain high standards in the examination and certification system and to prioritize financial improvement and income generation. His directives align with efforts to modernize and streamline vocational training in the region, making Khyber Pakhtunkhwa the first province in the country to enact its own legislation for the Trade Testing Board.

The briefing Tordhir received highlighted the board’s accomplishments, including the international certification of its credentials and substantial income from various sources. With 466 educational institutions registered, the board has issued thousands of training certificates over the past two years.

Tordhir also reviewed proposals for reforming the board’s governance structure, emphasizing the need for educated and capable members who align with the institution’s future goals. He discussed enhancing the legal framework of the institution and expanding vocational courses into agriculture and mining sectors. Commending the board’s shift towards a practical ability assessment system, Tordhir’s initiatives mark a significant step toward modernizing vocational training in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
