KP Minister Chairs Meeting on Commerce and Management Education Enhancement


Peshawar, In a significant stride towards advancing higher education in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Meena Khan Afridi, the Minister of Higher Education, presided over a meeting of the Directorate General of Commerce Education in Management Sciences. The meeting, which took place in the committee room of the Department of Higher Education Civil Secretariat in Peshawar, saw the participation of Additional Secretary Mazhar Ali, DG Commerce Education Professor Dr. Amjad Rafiq, among others.



According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a comprehensive briefing was given to the provincial minister on the state of commerce and management science colleges across KP, including the tribal districts. The briefing revealed that there are currently 43 such colleges in the province, catering to a total of 24,430 students. Challenges such as the pending approval of the PC One for Takhtbhai Commerce and Management Science College, lack of equipment, and halted construction due to funding shortages were discussed. The meeting also addressed the need for transport facilities for colleges in tribal areas and the establishment of new colleges to ensure quality education that equips students for practical life and employment.
