Lahore: Governor Faisal Karim Kundi of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has committed to restoring peace in the province, acknowledging the disruptions caused by the settlement of Afghan militants. In a speech at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Kundi outlined the province’s current security challenges and called for a meeting of the apex committee to address these issues urgently.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Governor Kundi spoke about the negative impact of decisions made in the past, particularly the accommodation of Afghan militants, which has significantly disrupted the region’s peace. He underscored the need for concerted efforts to stabilize the province and ensure the safety of its residents.

During his address, Governor Kundi also recognized the contributions of other political leaders, including Maulana Fazlur Rahman, in strengthening democracy within Pakistan. He praised the Pakistan People’s Party for maintaining a stance of tolerance in politics and refraining from harmful political practices such as backbiting.

The Governor’s call for an urgent apex committee meeting highlights the administration’s proactive approach to tackling the security and political challenges facing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. This meeting is expected to be a critical step in formulating strategies to reclaim peace and stability in the region.
