Peshawar, In an effort to enhance the education infrastructure in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Provincial Minister for Higher Education and Primary and Secondary Education, Professor Dr. Muhammad Qasim Jan, announced that the government is actively working to improve the education system, even with limited financial resources. This statement was made during a ceremony where keys for school vehicles were distributed to principals of nine Male and Female Colleges under the Department of Higher Education.
According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the event was attended by Additional Secretary Higher Education Syed Mazhar Ali Shah, Director Higher Education Dr. Faridullah Shah, and principals from the respective colleges. In this initiative, a total of 46 school vehicles were distributed in the first phase, while nine more were handed over at this ceremony. The provincial government had allocated a budget of Rs 945 million for the first phase of the project, aimed at providing transport facilities to commerce colleges.
Dr. Muhammad Qasim Jan emphasized the ongoing efforts towards the second phase of the project, which aims to ensure transportation is available at all educational institutions in the province. Highlighting the inclusion of girls’ colleges in the transportation plan, he affirmed that practical steps are being taken to address staff shortages and provide other necessary facilities in colleges across the region.
This move by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government signifies a commitment to elevating the standard of education by addressing logistical challenges and improving access to educational facilities.
