Korean Ambassador Lauds KP Police’s Counter-Terrorism Efforts in Meeting with IGP


Peshawar, A high-level meeting took place at the Central Police Office in Peshawar, where Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Akhtar Hayat Khan welcomed a four-member delegation from the Republic of Korea, led by Ambassador Park. The discussions focused on a range of topics, particularly the professional undertakings and reforms within the KP Police force.



According to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police, the IGP briefed the delegation on the various reforms that have been implemented within the force. This includes modern police training initiatives, welfare of the police force, the integration of advanced technology in policing activities, and effective policing strategies in the tribal districts. The measures have notably improved the security situation and order within the province, despite the challenges encountered.



The delegation was informed about the stringent security measures in place for the protection of foreigners working on different projects in the province. The IGP emphasized that the security for foreigners, tourists, and foreign investments is fully ensured.



The Korean delegation expressed admiration for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police’s relentless sacrifices and pivotal role in combating terrorism. They also pledged their government’s support to help the police force meet modern-day challenges. The meeting was attended by distinguished members including the Ambassador’s spouse Miss Kim Mi-sun, First Secretary Gong Soo-yin, and Senior Political and Economic Officer Mr. Kim Kyohee. A shield exchange also marked the occasion, symbolizing the mutual respect and anticipated cooperation between the two parties.
