Kohlu Deputy Commissioner Orders Immediate Reduction in Chicken Prices

Kohlu: Responding to the recent surge in chicken prices within the district, Deputy Commissioner Aqeel Karim Baloch has mandated an immediate price reduction following a meeting with local dealers. The directive aims to address affordability and ensure fair pricing for consumers in the area.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, Deputy Commissioner Aqeel Karim Baloch expressed a strict no-tolerance policy towards the unjustified increase in chicken prices during a meeting held yesterday. He emphasized the necessity for dealers and the business community to adjust their pricing strategies promptly or face severe penalties, including possible legal action. Baloch highlighted that the community’s access to essential goods at reasonable prices remains a top priority.

In addition to price adjustments, the Deputy Commissioner has tasked the Price Control Committee, including the local tehsildar, with closely monitoring and reporting daily on the prices and quality of not only chicken but also fruits and vegetables. This measure is part of a broader effort to ensure that price controls are effectively enforced and that quality standards are maintained across the board.
