King Edward Medical University Celebrates 164th Sports Gala with Provincial Minister’s Participation

Lahore, In a festive display of sportsmanship and academic unity, King Edward Medical University (KEMU) recently concluded its 164th Sports Gala, a significant event that not only showcases the athletic talents of its students but also reinforces the institution’s commitment to holistic education.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, the event was graced by the presence of the Provincial Minister of Department of Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education, Khawaja Salman Rafique, who attended the closing ceremony as a special guest. The ceremony was marked by the participation of prominent faculty members, including Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Ejaz Hussain, Registrar Prof. Syed Asghar Ali Naqi, and Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mahmood Ayaz, among others.

In a symbolic gesture of welcome, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mehmood Ayaz presented a bouquet of flowers to Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique, signifying the university’s appreciation for his support and presence. Addressing the gathering, Minister Rafique lauded the medical institutions of Punjab for their excellence and the significant contributions of their alumni, known as Chemcolians, to Pakistan’s healthcare sector. He pledged to further promote top-tier medical education in the province and to enhance post-graduation facilities within medical schools, emphasizing the importance of balancing academic pursuits with physical activities for students.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mahmood Ayaz highlighted KEMU’s dedication to organizing enriching extracurricular activities, acknowledging them as vital for the development of well-rounded medical professionals. He expressed his gratitude to Minister Rafique for his inaugural visit following the minister’s recent assumption of office, marking it as a moment of honor for the university.
