Karachi, A critical review meeting was held in Peshawar, focusing on the monthly performance of district livestock officers, project completions, and other vital aspects under the leadership of Dr. Alamzeb Mohmand, Director General of the Livestock Extension Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the session involved detailed briefings from district officers to the Director General about their performance within their districts. They discussed measures implemented for the enhancement of livestock activities and support for livestock farmers. Additionally, the meeting addressed the Khushal Khyber Pakhtunkhwa program, a key initiative of the current caretaker provincial government.
Dr. Mohmand emphasized the importance of maintaining accurate records of milk production, exports, and imports within the province. He highlighted the need for district officers to constantly update dairy farm records, including those related to livestock. The Director General also stressed the necessity of close collaboration and regular communication with landowners. He advised organizing awareness campaigns, selecting coordinators among landowners, and conducting systematic mapping. The focus was also on establishing livestock poultry, providing comprehensive services at dairy farms, raising awareness, and ensuring the safety of records.
A major directive issued by Dr. Mohmand was the enforcement of timely vaccination of animals against Lumpy Skin Disease. He instructed officers to organize field days in their respective districts, ensuring the deployment of banners and other resources for de-worming and vaccination awareness campaigns.
