Bannu: A severe storm on July 10 has resulted in multiple injuries and significant damage to homes in the Bannu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, highlighting the challenges faced by the region during heavy rainfall.
According to Relief Web, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority reported that three residents sustained injuries due to the storm’s impact. The victims include Muhammad Saad, a resident of Bahader Khel Mandan; ten-year-old Hadeeja from Sedrawan; and Hassan Ali, aged 65, from Mamsh Khel. Additionally, several homes in the area suffered structural damages, particularly boundary walls, with reports of three rooms completely destroyed in one of the residences.
The areas most affected by property damage include Sedrawan, where Asad Ullah’s home sustained damage to its boundary wall, and Mamash Khel, where residents Mati Ullah and Shafi Ullah reported significant structural damage. Homes in Hinjel Noor Baz and Bazar Ahmed Khan were also affected, with damaged boundary walls reported by residents Suhail Khan, Riaz Khan, and Allah Nawaz.
The PDMA continues to assess the situation and has initiated efforts to aid those affected by the storm, as community members and local authorities begin recovery and rebuilding efforts.
