Peshawar, Secretary of Livestock, Fisheries, and Co-operative for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Dr. Muhammad Asrar, recently visited the Animal Husbandry In-Service Training Institute (AHITI) in Peshawar, conducting a comprehensive review of the institute’s facilities and operations.
According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Dr. Asrar, accompanied by AHITI Principal Mian Ahadullah and other officials, inspected various departments of the center. During his visit, the Secretary was briefed on the institute’s progress in technical training in animal husbandry, consultancy services, and the completion of courses. He also examined the training facility classroom, seminar room, and both female and male hostels.
Dr. Asrar acknowledged the significant contributions of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in supporting the Meat Training Facility Center at AHITI. He expressed gratitude for their investment in the project, which focuses on training butchers in essential practices like cattle slaughtering.
Emphasizing the importance of modernizing and enhancing the institute, Dr. Asrar directed Principal AHITI to submit a report outlining plans for improvements based on current needs and facilities. The aim is to upgrade the institute to provide substantial benefits to cattle herdsmen and enhance the overall standards of animal husbandry training in the region.
The visit underscores the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s commitment to elevating the standards of livestock care and management through specialized training and development.
