Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Plans Enhancements for Special Education and Women’s Empowerment


Peshawar, At the Special Education Complex Hayatabad’s annual prize distribution ceremony, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Advisor Mashal Azam Yousafzai outlined the government’s commitment to enhancing support for special education and women’s empowerment. The event also saw the distribution of awards to outstanding students, celebrating their academic achievements.



According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Advisor Yousafzai announced the creation of separate Directorates for Special Education and Women Empowerment and an increase in the government job quota for disabled individuals to ten percent. He discussed plans to provide scholarships to students in special education institutes and acknowledged the need for more inclusive educational facilities.



The ceremony, attended by students, parents, and officials, highlighted the achievements of the Special Education Complex, with Yousafzai praising the parents and educators for their dedication to integrating special needs children into society. He also acknowledged the broader efforts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, initiated by PTI founder Imran Khan, to address social and welfare issues.



Syed Ali Bakhsh, Director of the Special Education Complex, provided insight into the institution’s challenges and contributions, noting that it serves a significant number of students, including residential scholars. The event also featured performances by special children, receiving commendation from the attendees.



Yousafzai’s visit to the Vocational Training Center of the complex allowed him to observe firsthand the skills and products crafted by the students, reinforcing the value of vocational training in special education.
